A record number of guests celebrated the arts and the reopening of the Yaddo Mansion at the annual Summer Benefit on Thursday, June 20th.

Yaddo President Elaina Richardson welcomed the community back to the Mansion with a rousing “We did it!” thanking everyone in the room whose support made possible the preservation of Yaddo’s historic jewel for generations to come. An evening highlight was an acoustic performance by singer-songwriter Mike Doughty, founder of ’90s band Soul Coughing, who performed a number of old favorites and new classics for the appreciative crowd, along with a few funny anecdotes about his own creative time at Yaddo.

The Summer Benefit brought together 380 art supporters from Saratoga Springs, Albany, and the entire capital district for an evening of entertainment, delicious food and wine, and splendid company. Proceeds from the Benefit play a crucial role in ensuring Yaddo’s residency program continues to flourish.
